Asia Open in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Winner qualifies for the World Championships
This year, there are 3 tournaments in the International Series tournament category of the ITSF Tour.
The first of these tournaments, the Tornado International Championships, took place in Las Vegas, USA.
The second one, the Asia Open, will take place for the second time in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from July 18th to 21st.
The Open Singles winner of each International tournament is automatically qualified for the World Championships and significant points (100 for the winner) are to be earned towards the ITSF Rankings.
During the event, Mr Joe Ueno, ITSF Executive Committee Member and President of the Asia-Oceania Table Soccer Confederation will hold a meeting with federation delegates from Asia and Oceania.
There are currently 14 Asian member federations within ITSF and one from Oceania: Australia, Bahrain, China, Hong-Kong, India, Iran, Israel, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates.
Five more have enquired about ITSF membership - Indonesia, Philippines, New-Zealand, Oman (Sultanate of), Singapore - and should become ITSF members soon.
The meeting's agenda includes discussion about the development of table soccer in the Asia-Oceania continental zone and how current members can help new comers join ITSF.
The last International Series event will take place in Tokyo, Japan, in September.
